UAE Employment Visa

UAE Employment Visa Procedure
Your employer must apply for a Residence Visa for you from the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) of the emirate where you are working once you enter the UAE with the authorization you got from the MOHRE.
When your application is granted, the GDRFA will stamp an Employment Visa in your passport and provide you with an Emirates ID, which will be valid for the same period as the visa. You’ll also get a Labour Card, which proves to the authorities that you’re allowed to work in the UAE.

UAE Employment Visa Documents
Several supporting papers are required when applying for an employment visa in the UAE, including;
- A copy of your passport as well as your actual passport.
- A passport-size photograph, as required by the UAE.
- Copies of your academic credentials Your credentials must be approved by the UAE Embassy or Consulate in your country, as well as your nation’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
- A medical certificate from a government-approved health institution in the United Arab Emirates.
- Documents from the firm that hired you, such as the company’s commercial license or card.
Until further notice, a certificate of good conduct is not required under the revised UAE employment visa criteria.
UAE Work Visa Eligibility: Who is eligible?
Any expatriate above the age of 18 can work in the UAE as long as they fulfill the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation’s requirements. Although there is no upper age limit for employment in the UAE, the corporation does charge a premium price for individuals over the age of 65.
Based on their academic qualifications/skill sets, foreign employees are categorized into three groups:
- If you hold a bachelor’s degree or above.
- If you hold a diploma from a post-secondary institution in any discipline.
- If you have a high school diploma, you are eligible.
UAE Entry Visa Process
An employment entrance visa is also known as a pink visa in the UAE. The employer must apply for visa quota approval on behalf of the employee to begin the process of acquiring this permission. This permission will be granted by the Ministry of Labor.
The employer will next file an employment contract to the Ministry of Labor. The potential employee must sign this contract.
The Ministry must approve the work permit application before an employment entrance visa may be given. After acquiring authorization and securing a visa, the employee will have two months to visit the UAE.
After entering the UAE on a pink visa, the employee has 60 days to apply for a resident visa and a formal work permit.
Validity of UAE Work Permits
When you initially acquire a work permit, it is valid for 30 days and can be extended for another 30. If you wish to remain in the United Arab Emirates for 60 days, you and your employer will need to apply for a Residence Visa, an Emirates ID, and a Labour Card.
It is the Residence Visa, as well as the Labour Card, that allows you to lawfully stay and work in the UAE. UAE residence visas are granted for one, two, or three years, depending on the purpose of the trip and the UAE authorities’ judgment.
Work Permit Estimated Fees in the UAE
The following are the costs for UAE work permits:
- AED 200 for all categories/levels for initial approval of a new electronic work permit.
- The new electronic work permit has been approved:
- AED 300 for Category 1
- Level A: 600 AED, Level B: 1,500 AED, and Level C: 2,000 AED: Category 2
- AED 5,000: Category 3
- AED 5,000 on all categories for foreign employees over the age of 65.
The second group is broken into tiers based on the company’s ratio of skilled and unskilled staff. In most circumstances, your employer is responsible for paying for your UAE work permit.
UAE Work Visa Renewal: Is it Possible?
You certainly can. All sorts of UAE residence visas are provided for a period of one to three years and can be renewed. Your sponsor must renew your UAE Work Visa within 30 days of its expiration date.
The process for renewing your UAE Work Visa is similar to when you originally applied for it: your sponsor must apply at the appropriate emirate’s General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs.
However, if your visa expires during the UAE residence visa expiration grace period, your sponsor may renew it.
